About Vintage Mural

My name is Mindy Sommers and I am a professional artist and designer. A native New Yorker, I now live and work in beautiful Vermont, USA, with my wonderful Texan husband and two delicious cats that we both unashamedly dote on.

My art has appeared as book covers, as haute couture fabric, in graphic magazines, etc., and I have clients all over the world who have purchased my work on tile and other home decor accent and art gift products that we manufacture. In fact, one of my art pieces is now the packaging for a popular new perfume out of Australia. Art is my life, and I am blessed to be able to do what I love for a living. With my husband and a small but growing staff, we run a very busy and sometimes crazy art printing company. He handles the print production and I handle the art stuff. ;)

I have long loved vintage art, and have spent many countless hours rummaging through old antique shops, flea markets and auctions for unusual and rare pieces, art, postcards, ephemera, candy tins, signs, etc. After amassing an unusual and beautiful collection of vintage images, it seemed a natural segue to Color Bakery to start a company that specialized in vintage art. We can print any image on any product, which gives our customers an amazing way to custom-create their own art pieces, home decor accessories and art gifts.

Let's Talk About Tiles!
Tiles are not only incredibly popular, but are one of the most wonderful ways to add color and style to one's home and personal surroundings. Deliciously lush, intensely colorful and full of texture, not to mention dramatic, the possibilities that tiles offer are only limited by one's imagination and sense of adventure. Tiles may be displayed individually on easels, in frames, trivets or lit from behind with light (glass). They can be displayed in tile murals, backsplashes for a kitchen or as borders in a child's room or bathroom, as glass floors, in wall sconces, in mirrors, as decoration in furniture and a wide array of beautiful items that bring depth and dancing color to the home. Tiles not only last much longer than traditional art on paper, which fades and yellows with time-but tiles also offer a depth of color and vibrance that paper or canvas cannot match, not to mention diversity of application and large size availability.
